SmarCIC has partnered with BICS to increase choice for organizations using fixed wireless services by expanding existing carrier relationships for the CELLSMART division.
SmartCIC’s CELLSMART offering enables its customers to provide mobile solutions that can freely roam across networks worldwide, allowing businesses to use a stronger performing network in a given location.
The offering analyzes the performance of local mobile networks and provides insights and recommendations for optimizing business applications.
CELLSMART’s offering is supported by more than 25,000 engineers in 200 countries worldwide.
This partnership will also allow customers to benefit from direct connectivity with leading mobile network operators.
“The partnership with BICS is a huge milestone for SmartCIC,” said SmartCIC CEO Toby Forman.
“We see an opportunity to leverage our technical heritage and networking expertise so that more enterprises can take advantage of the agility and flexibility that mobile technology can bring to their businesses.
“Together with BICS, we are increasing the opportunities for companies to switch between more MNOs across a global footprint. This intelligence-based, optimized network performance means they take advantage of business wired, wireless Internet connectivity.
“CELLSMART brings new speed and intelligence to mobile deployments and makes it easier for enterprises to use mobile solutions to support their operations.”
BICS, an international communication enabler, creates reliable and secure mobile experiences and has a global network of more than 700 mobile network operators in 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G, and Nb-IoT.
In addition, the network ecosystem connects more than 5 billion consumers and 150 million IoT devices worldwide.
“Seamless global connectivity is becoming increasingly important for enterprises and will be the engine for growth in our digital age,” said BICS head of IoT Luc Vidal-Madjar.
“By partnering with BICS, SmartCIC can offer its CELLSMART customers unparalleled global connectivity and choice, removing barriers to mobile technology adoption and allowing customers to focus on innovation instead.”
The partnership comes after SmartCIC’s cellular intelligence division, CELLSMART, discovered that Singapore’s Singtel, UAE’s du, Sweden’s Telia, Germany’s Deutsche Telekom, and the UK’s EE are the top five 5G carriers in the world.
The Global Cellular Performance Survey assessed the performance of 3G, 4G, and 5G and also found that 5G networks deliver fast download speeds but lag behind upload speeds that support business applications.
CELLSMART says that the global average 5G download speed between March and May 2022 was 241.61 Mbps, while the upload speed was only 31.27 Mbps.
Upload speeds showed a 55% increase over the global 4G average, while download speeds jumped 330%. The report says businesses will need faster speeds to support data transfers as they look to 5G for connectivity to power flexible solutions.
The survey also found the top five metropolitan markets with the highest average 5G download speeds: Cannes, Munich, Nashville, Oslo, and Singapore.
